Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute audit engagements for clients primarily based in Canada, ensuring compliance with ISAs and relevant regulations
  • Prepare and review working papers, financial statements, and related reports with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Identify and communicate audit issues and potential risks to senior management and clients
  • Supervise and mentor junior audit staff, providing guidance and constructive feedback
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis and evaluate internal control systems
  • Liaise directly with clients to gather information, respond to inquiries, and build strong professional relationships
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and completion of audit fieldwork
  • Research and interpret accounting standards and regulatory requirements relevant to Canadian clients
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit processes and methodologies
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client information and adhere to professional ethics

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (ACCA/CA Finalist preferred)
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in external audit, preferably with exposure to international clients
  • Strong understanding and practical application of Auditing Standards (ISAs)
  • Proven proficiency in audit software such as CaseWare, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client and team interaction
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple engagements simultaneously
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Proficiency in English, sufficient for communicating with Canadian clients
  • A commitment to continuous professional development
