Responsibilities
- Lead and execute audit engagements for clients primarily based in Canada, ensuring compliance with ISAs and relevant regulations
- Prepare and review working papers, financial statements, and related reports with accuracy and attention to detail
- Identify and communicate audit issues and potential risks to senior management and clients
- Supervise and mentor junior audit staff, providing guidance and constructive feedback
- Conduct thorough financial analysis and evaluate internal control systems
- Liaise directly with clients to gather information, respond to inquiries, and build strong professional relationships
- Assist in the planning, execution, and completion of audit fieldwork
- Research and interpret accounting standards and regulatory requirements relevant to Canadian clients
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit processes and methodologies
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client information and adhere to professional ethics
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (ACCA/CA Finalist preferred)
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in external audit, preferably with exposure to international clients
- Strong understanding and practical application of Auditing Standards (ISAs)
- Proven proficiency in audit software such as CaseWare, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client and team interaction
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple engagements simultaneously
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Proficiency in English, sufficient for communicating with Canadian clients
- A commitment to continuous professional development
