Senior Product Owner, Product Development.Islamic Banking MBP.Retail Banking Group-MBPKLTD

Job Purpose
- Responsible for working with Head Islamic Banking to grow Islamic Banking business and product suite in Mashreq Bank Pakistan ensuring fully digital enabled journeys are offered to Islamic customers across all the Digital Business verticals (NEO& NEOBIZ) and business lines – Deposits and Assets

- The jobholder is entrusted with launching and managing the Islamic Proposition and Products and ensure that Islamic offering is competitive and in line with clients needs

- Interact with the Shariah Compliance/Legal/Compliance to ensure all requisite approvals are in place for launch

- Responsible for end-to-end Modaraba Pool Management - Pool creation, system setups, weightages and profit rates declaration. Ensuring pool management is in line with regulatory guidelines. Dealing and managing internal and external audits and reviews on profit payouts

- Collaborate and work with squads, technology, operations and other relevant units to rollout the Islamic front end digital journeys and bac-end tech infrastructure and operational are in place to ensure seamless launch and management of the Islamic Banking products.

- The jobholder is entrusted with completing and conducting the UATs on all tech upgrades/fixes/new launches with Tech/Ops for agreed rollouts and conduct the product trainings

- Responsible for ensuring the Shariah Governance/Legal/Compliance clearances and managing the Controls/RCSAs/Regulatory Checks for the existing & new products & features

- Develop product DOIs / SOPs and work with internal and external stakeholders to develop Islamic product agreements.


Assist with the implementation of policies, procedures and manuals in line with SBP regulations and internal policy requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Minimum 12+ years of hands-on Product, Operations, Controls, experience with a leading bank, having an Islamic offering, with knowledge on Core Banking/Associated Systems and ability to work with Digital Squads. Superior knowledge in business backend, system controls, & execution requirements with multiple stakeholders keeping in mind the strong regulatory & audit environment.

- Understanding of Shariah Governance concepts, and proven track record of close liaison with support/product units to ensure Shariah Governance deliverables are implemented to support regulatory checks
- Ability to lead close critical items independently, coordinating with all the other product teams, with product teams keeping focus on customer centricity
- Strong analytical, problem solving, planning, interpersonal and presentation skills, with an accountability on end user requirement

- Strong commercial orientation and effective people management skills
- Knowledge of all aspects of the marketing mix, with strengths in basic product execution and backend support,

- Business degree or equivalent professional qualification
