Technical SEO & AEO/GEO Specialist

Job Overview

Software Finder is seeking an experienced Technical SEO & AEO/GEO Specialist to drive the technical foundation of our organic search strategy while preparing our digital properties for the future of AI-powered search. This role is responsible for improving website performance, crawlability, indexation, structured data implementation, and overall search visibility across traditional search engines and emerging AI search experiences.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical SEO background, understands modern search technologies, and can collaborate effectively with Engineering, Product, and Content teams to implement scalable SEO solutions that enhance both user experience and discoverability.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive technical SEO audits to identify and resolve crawlability, indexing, rendering, and website performance issues.
• Optimize website architecture, internal linking, URL structure, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonical tags, redirects, and faceted navigation.
• Improve Core Web Vitals and overall website performance by identifying technical bottlenecks and recommending best practices.
• Identify and resolve duplicate content, orphan pages, crawl errors, broken links, and indexation issues.
• Implement, validate, and maintain structured data using Schema.org and JSON-LD to improve rich search eligibility.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Content teams to execute technical SEO initiatives and ensure SEO best practices are integrated into development workflows.
• Optimize websites for Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) by enhancing semantic HTML, metadata, entity optimization, and machine-readable content.
• Improve AI discoverability and citation readiness across AI-powered search platforms and emerging search technologies.
• Monitor search engine algorithm updates, AI search trends, and website health to proactively recommend improvements.
• Build dashboards and provide regular reporting on technical SEO performance, Core Web Vitals, indexation, structured data health, and AI search visibility.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve website scalability, search performance, and user experience through technical optimization.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
• 3–6 years of hands-on experience in Technical SEO for medium-to-large websites.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript SEO, website rendering, crawl budget optimization, canonicalization, and index management.
• Experience optimizing Core Web Vitals, page performance, internal linking, URL architecture, and faceted navigation.
• Hands-on experience implementing and validating Schema.org and JSON-LD structured data.
• Good understanding of semantic SEO, entity optimization, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).
• Experience using Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Semrush, and other SEO auditing tools.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical SEO data.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with experience working alongside engineering and product teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

• Experience with Lighthouse, Chrome DevTools, Rich Results Test, Schema Markup Validator, Looker Studio, and BigQuery.
• Understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks and their SEO implications.
• Familiarity with log file analysis and advanced crawl diagnostics.
• Knowledge of AI search ecosystems, large language model (LLM) discoverability, and evolving search technologies.
• Experience creating automated SEO dashboards and technical reporting.
• Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing optimization opportunities.
• Passion for staying updated with the latest developments in search engine algorithms, AI-powered search, and technical SEO best practices.
