Purpose

Responsibilities

The purpose of this position is critical to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all instrument & control systems and equipment. The key responsibilities typically include:

• Maintenance and Reliability: Overseeing the maintenance of I&C systems such as instrumentation, PLCs, DCS, Analyzers, control valves, transmitters to ensure they are functioning optimally. This includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to avoid unplanned outages.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensuring that all I&C PM/CM activity been carried out, must comply with safety standards. This includes implementing safety protocols to protect both personnel and equipment. Ensure compliance with the Permit to Work system, promoting safety protocols and operational standards.
• Emergency Response and Troubleshooting: Quickly responding to I&C failures or emergencies, ensuring that the plant can return to normal operations as swiftly and safely as possible.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining detailed records of I&C systems checklist, inspections, maintenance, and upgrades. This documentation is critical for audits, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  
  

Education

D.A.E Electronics or Electrical.

Knowledge

• Should possess good theoretical knowledge of instrumentation, basic electronics and control equipment and must be familiar with use of testing, monitoring and calibration equipment and possess troubleshooting skills.
• Should have knowledge and hands-on experience on Siemens S7-200, S7-300, S7-1200 PLC, Allen Bradley SLC 5/05, Allen Bradley Compact Guard Logix, Honeywell DCS, Emerson RX3i PLC, Sodium/Chloride/pH Analyzers, and general control systems.
• Experience on LM6000PC Gas Turbine Engine will be preferred.
• Candidate with basic IT based competency example CPU system restoration, windows/software installation, system image recovery, hard drives configuration/replacement, network troubleshooting will be preferred.
• Enforce safety regulations within the team, ensuring proper risk analysis, conducting toolbox talks, and ensuring the proper use of PPEs.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Should understand, read, and write English Language.
• Must have proficiency in Computer Knowledge.
  
  

Experience

6-8 Year of working experience in I&C maintenance section of Power Plant/fertilizer/oil sector in capacity of Associate Engineer or equivalent

Area Of Responsibility

I&C Equipment Maintenance

• Understand delegated tasks, ensuring timely completion of tasks in co-ordination with AM/DM and as per defined objectives.
• Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all I&C equipment, including instrumentation, PLCs, DCS, Analyzers, control valves and control systems. Maintain all equipment and accessories in neat, clean, and serviceable condition, regularly surveying the area, and reporting abnormalities to AM/DM/Manager.
• Maintain all equipment and accessories duly certified and calibrated in the department.
• Carry out local repairing of the faulty equipment/cards from local market.
• Follow maintenance manuals, procedures, F&ID, schematic & control drawings for accomplishment of safe and quality workmanship. Carry out proper RCA to avoid rework and give recommendations for improvements.
• Carry out testing, calibration and overhauling of instruments and equipment, panel wiring, PLC hardware troubleshooting etc.
• Confidently use all testing and troubleshooting equipment and tools and keep them calibrated and in ready to use condition
  
  

Administrative/Functional

• Assist AM/DM/Manager in organization and administration of I&C maintenance section in line with instructions and directives of the management, rules, and regulations in practice to achieve targets and objectives.
• Attending notifications and work orders on daily basis. Properly mention the details of activity performed and cause of failure in the maintenance report and close the work orders.
• Daily reading the logbook to find previous shifts’ status for completion and follow-up of ongoing jobs.
• Maintain daily log sheet and maintenance record in readily presentable format
• Keep a close watch on consumables and spare parts related to his jobs and inform AM/DM/Manager in time for replenishment.
• Utilize SAP MM module for recording all maintenance activities and issuance of material from stock.
• Ensure cleanliness of all indoor and outdoor work areas and motivate team for the same. Maintain housekeeping in the plant and participate in housekeeping walk.
• Extend support, guidance, and training to subordinates or newcomers for technical development.
• Actively participate in Safety Committee meetings and attend HSE related training courses.
