Job Title: Assistant Manager Sales - Government Services (GS)

Reports to (job): GS Manager

Purpose Of Position

  • The job incumbent is responsible for the Business Development of Government Services (GS).
  • Leading the development of new business (new scope/new customers) within GS for his respective market/products. Ensures consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues through the structural approach of the market, building strong relations with the clients, and working closely with the marketing team. Identifies objectives, opportunities, and action plans to improve short- and long-term sales and earnings.
  • The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy.

Major Responsibilities

  • Business Development for product portfolio. This includes commercial activities such as market Surveys.
  • Assist the management in the identification, preparation, and submission of prequalification, express of interest, and offers.
  • Identify & manage large clients/opportunities / Key accounts.
  • Cross Selling - leveraging BV service portfolio.
  • Preparation of Quotations, in consultation with the GS Manager.
  • To create job files and prepare job instructions for field inspectors.
  • Finalization of inspection schedules with the Inspection Coordinator and deploying inspectors.
  • Client interaction; providing daily updates on the progress of the job, issuance of final certificates, invoicing, collection of inspection fees, and obtaining customer feedback for improvement of service quality.
  • Business Development activity; Visiting new and existing clients, Identification of new markets, and submission of weekly client-interaction reports and project alerts to the concerned manager.
  • Forwarding the consolidated reports to the business line and GS manager.
  • Ensure implementation of QMS in responsibility corporate standards (e.g. Code of Ethics, BV Values, corporate identity, policies, procedures)
  • To manage the sales force team ( definition of sales objectives, incentives policy, back-office organization)
  • Regular monitoring of sales opportunity pipeline – track leads and active proposals. Maintain visibility of sales actions using Salesforce
  • To implement the commercial strategy as defined by country/BU Managers
  • To identify/ update Key Account projects.
  • To set/update sales strategies.
  • To assess the market for new business opportunities.
  • To set/ review sales strategies to expand customer and activity base.
  • To prepare necessary reporting materials to Local and Regional management.
  • To participate in Monthly meetings with the Region.

Criteria for Performance Evaluation (KPIs)

  • Sales, and revenue as per business plan.
  • Client relationship – Retention and Growth, To provide timely, and accurate feedback of Sales/Market strategy and performance.
  • Account receivables.
  • Compliance with internal and external guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Internal and external customer service satisfaction (e.g. number of complaints), To collaborate with the Deputy manager GS to manage customer satisfaction.
  • To demonstrate ethical and professional behaviors in line with BV Core Values

Qualification And Experience

  • Post Graduate / Graduate with min. 8 to 10 yrs. of relevant industry Sales experience.
  • MBA Marketing will be an added advantage but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC/QMS will be preferred.
  • Good communication and writing skills, Fluent in English.
  • A team player.
  • Strong ethics and integrity.

  • Should be a ‘Go to Market’ attitude personnel with ability to connect people, and client contacts at higher level & should be able to convert contacts into business.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Should have good leadership abilities and skills.
  • Should have a pleasing personality.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Computer-Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Roles & Responsibilities for HSE.
  • Must comply with the BV Cardinal Safety Rules in all situations.
