Software Engineer II
Conrad Labs

Who are we?
Conrad Labs is a cutting-edge software technology company with hubs in Lahore, Karachi, and Austin, Texas. We're a team of passionate and talented individuals who love to tackle complex challenges using the latest technologies. Our mission is to develop innovative products that make a real-world impact. We've made our mark in core cloud infrastructure management, healthcare, and AI/ML-based training and education.
About the role?
We’re looking for a Software Engineer II with 3–5 years of hands-on experience to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you’ll contribute across the product lifecycle—helping shape architecture decisions, owning feature development, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.
If you're ready to take more ownership, solve complex problems, and grow alongside a collaborative and high-performing team—we’d love to hear from you!
What will you do?
- Own and Deliver Features: Take ownership of key features and systems, from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
- Contribute to Architecture: Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to evolving our system architecture for scalability and performance.
- Write Clean, Scalable Code: Develop high-quality, maintainable, and testable code using modern software development practices.
- Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, and engineers (both local and remote) to deliver value to users.
- Support and Mentor: Share knowledge with junior team members, conduct code reviews, and help raise the engineering bar within the team.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify areas for improvement in the codebase, architecture, or engineering processes—and help drive those changes.
What you will bring to the table?
- Engineering Ownership: You can independently manage feature work, make technical decisions, and deliver production-ready solutions.
- Strong Technical Judgment: You understand trade-offs in system design and code quality, and make thoughtful decisions accordingly.
- Clear Communication: You collaborate well with peers and stakeholders, and can explain technical concepts clearly and confidently.
- Problem Solving: You approach challenges methodically, breaking them down and delivering robust solutions.
- Mentorship Mindset: You’re happy to support and guide junior engineers when needed.
- Learning Attitude: You're committed to growing your skills and staying current with industry trends and technologies.
Your skillset
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 3–5 years of experience as a software engineer in a product-based environment.
- Proficiency in full-stack web development, with solid understanding of backend systems, APIs, and database design (SQL/NoSQL).
- Experience with scalable, distributed systems and handling increased traffic/data loads.
- Solid understanding of cloud technologies, preferably AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience writing automated tests, and a strong focus on code quality, performance, and maintainability.
- Experience working with containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Bonus points for experience in system design, architecture patterns, and mentoring junior engineers.
