Job Purpose

To provide electrical engineering expertise in carrying out corrective and preventive maintenance on E&I systems/equipment to meet operational requirements

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor performance of E&I systems/equipment at the plant to assess the levels of operational efficiency and identify possible intervention requirements
• Install, maintain, and repair industrial control and power distribution systems such as electrical motors, motor control devices, and variable speed drives
• Conduct thorough diagnostic assessments of E&I systems, analyzing factors such as downtime and load, determining the root causes of any malfunctions, and providing solutions to prevent such issues in the future
• Collaborate in drafting technical specifications and assist the IT Technician and EI&A Engineer in the technical assessment of potential vendors or third-party contractors to streamline the procurement process of equipment
• Follow up and monitor the vendors, assessing their reliability and quality of work as per the agreed-upon contractual terms
• Supervise both in-house technicians and third-party contractors, ensuring maintenance tasks are executed according to timelines, and within the allocated budgets
• Respond promptly to and undertake emergency repair tasks to address any malfunctions or breakdowns in the E&I systems or equipment
• Set calibration schedules for provided tools and equipment, ensuring they are accurate, cleaned, and stored to prevent damage and loss
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, installation, and repair activities, ensuring proper documentation for future reference
• Conduct thorough inspections and tests before handing over E&I systems or equipment to the relevant departments, ensuring a seamless transition
• Identify opportunities in optimizing systems and suggest enhancements or updates to existing control systems when needed
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, standards, and regulations, notifying the EI&A Engineer for potential health hazards and risks in Electrical systems/equipmentKeep abreast on the latest developments in E&I and maintenance to ensure NFL adopts best practices consistently
  
  

Background Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline with 3-5 years of experience
• Postgraduate degree in relevant discipline with 1-2 years of experience
